Economics Classroom Structural Repairs

The building that hosts the Economics classrooms (North West section of Quad) is currently undergoing some structural repairs. The ground underneath has moved over time and some concerning cracks appeared in the brickwork. This has been monitored over the last 18 months and we have now initiated the underpinning work to ensure the building is structurally sound. 

Over the Easter break the area has been dug out, piling pins have been driven into the ground, and the steel supports will be installed underground over the coming weeks. Once that is complete, the external and internal brickwork will be repaired.

The work will be unavoidably noisy at times and we are grateful for your patience whilst this essential project is completed. This is expected to be finish by early June.
